Whilst encouraging all forms of rowing at sea, the Club particularly wishes to be involved in Cornish Pilot Gig racing. This rapidly-growing sport is historically associated with Devon & Cornwall, but is now spreading east.

SSRC has two gigs of its own –
‘Old Harry’ (launched in June 2002) and ‘Peveril’ (launched in July 2003), and the use of a third gig ‘Pinnacle’
(launched in March 2003) which is owned by Tim Hughes.
